Can trazodone make you sleep?

I've been struggling with insomnia for a long time now, really having trouble falling asleep. Someone suggested Trazodone for this problem. Does this medicine actually help in making you sleep well?

Yes, it is often prescribed in low doses for sleep issues. While it helps, try to also practice gentle deep breathing or Bhramari pranayama before bed. It helps calm the nervous system naturally so you don't have to rely only on medicine.

Yes, it definitely works for insomnia. Many doctors prescribe low-dose trazodone specifically for its sedative side effects. It’s not an over-the-counter drug, so make sure you get a proper prescription and don't self-medicate.

My roommate was taking it during exams because his sleep was totally messed up. He said it definitely helped him fall asleep, but honestly, he used to wake up feeling like a zombie. Definitely check with a doc before trying it.

Actually yaar, it knocks you out pretty well. I was on a very small dose last year when my sleep schedule was completely ruined due to work stress. Just be careful because it can make you feel a bit groggy the next morning.

Yes, it has strong sedative properties. But along with the medication, try to fix your sleep hygiene, like keeping your phone away and staying active during the day. A good workout session always makes falling asleep much easier.

I used trazodone for sleep for about six months. It is highly effective, but my tip is to take it at least 8-9 hours before you need to wake up, otherwise the morning hangover is real. Talk to your psychiatrist to find the exact dose that works for you.

It is a prescription medicine that doctors give for sleep. For mild sleeplessness, drinking warm turmeric milk or chamomile tea before bed is very helpful. But if your insomnia is severe, please consult a proper doctor instead of trying to manage it yourself.
