Can tooth pain make you nauseous?

This tooth pain has been bothering me so much that I'm completely put off food and feel constantly nauseous. I can't even think about eating. Can a severe toothache really make you feel sick to your stomach?

Yes, intense pain can trigger nausea, and sometimes swallowing dental pus can also upset your stomach. You can try sipping some warm ginger tea to calm your stomach, but please go to a dentist to treat the root cause.

Don't just assume it is normal or try searching for home remedies online. Nausea combined with toothache could mean a spreading infection or side effects from self-medication, so get a proper clinical checkup.

Wait, does this really happen to others too? I have been feeling so sick to my stomach along with this wisdom tooth pain and I was worried it was something much worse. Did your nausea go away after the dental treatment?

Yes, extreme throbbing pain can easily cause nausea. I had the same issue during my root canal infection.

It definitely can. High levels of pain stimulate the vagus nerve, which can make you feel like vomiting. Also, if you are taking strong pain killers on an empty stomach, that will also cause severe nausea.
