Can too much coffee cause kidney stones?

My father had kidney stones, and he always warned me about drinking too much tea and coffee. I'm a big coffee drinker, about 4-5 cups daily. Could this habit put me at a higher risk for kidney stones?

I went through a really dark phase when I got kidney stones, the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep for days and I kept blaming my coffee habits. It was emotionally exhausting. Please take care of yourself and don't blame yourself, just focus on healing and consult a doc.

Coffee contains oxalates which can contribute to stones, so high amounts aren't great. I make sure to stay highly active and drink 4 liters of water daily. If your doctor allows, light regular exercise also keeps your kidneys and circulation in good shape.

Listen, don't stress yourself out too much reading things online. Coffee in moderate amounts is fine, but if you are prone to stones, high caffeine can dehydrate you and make it worse. Just reduce your cups, drink plenty of water, and you'll be perfectly fine, okay?

Haan yaar, coffee mein oxalates hote hain toh risk toh badhta hi hai na agar paani kam piyo. Humare yahan toh log dabba ke coffee peete hain bina paani piye. Yeh galti mat karo, doc se pooch kar limit set kar lo.

My college-going son developed a small kidney stone last year because he was drinking too many energy drinks and coffee during exams. It was so painful to watch. Please, take care of your health, drink lots of home-made lemon juice, and avoid these bottled coffees.

I can't imagine my mornings without a rich, creamy cold coffee! But yes, coffee does have oxalates which can form stones. I try to balance my love for coffee by eating calcium-rich foods and drinking lime juice, but moderation is definitely key.

My uncle had to get laser treatment for kidney stones at Lilavati. The doctors there clearly advised him to limit his black tea and coffee intake due to oxalate levels. You should ask your urologist clearly about your daily limit.

Too much coffee creates dry heat in the body which concentrates your urine. I always suggest drinking barley water (jau ka paani) or coconut water daily, as they are tested home ways to keep kidneys clean. But please do consult a doctor if you have pain.

I read about the oxalate content in coffee and literally stopped drinking it out of fear of getting stones. It made me so anxious! I think as long as we drink enough water it should be okay, but maybe getting a doctor's advice is best to calm our minds.

If coffee causes stones, my kidneys must be made of marble by now! Honestly, sleep deprivation makes me drink four mugs a day. But I also drink a gallon of water to make sure those oxalates don't settle down.

I manage PCOS and try to avoid high caffeine because of hormone spikes, but I've also heard it can affect kidney filtration if you are dehydrated. I can't say for sure if it directly causes stones, so it is always safer to discuss your diet with a doctor.
