Can tight hip flexors cause back pain?

Since I started working from home, my lower back has been bothering me a lot. My physiotherapist vaguely mentioned something about hip flexors. Can tight hip flexors actually lead to this kind of back pain?

Listen, don't worry too much. When you sit for long hours, your hip flexors shorten and pull on your lower spine, causing that nagging back pain. Try to take short walking breaks every hour and you'll see a big difference.

I had severe back pain and went to Apollo Hospital for a checkup. The doctor clearly explained that tight hip flexors were tilting my pelvis forward. You should consult a good doctor to confirm this for your case.

I dealt with this for two years. The key is doing the lunge stretch daily to open up those hip flexors and strengthen your glutes. Be consistent with your stretches and the back pain will definitely reduce.

Haan na, continuous sitting at our laptop makes the hips so tight and then our lower back starts paining. Just doing some basic stretches on the yoga mat daily helps so much, actually.

Yes, my physiotherapist explained that tight psoas muscles (hip flexors) pull the lumbar spine forward, creating an anterior pelvic tilt. He advised me to do daily kneeling hip flexor stretches and avoid deep soft sofas.
