Can tight glutes cause lower back pain?

I sit at a desk for most of my day, and I've been experiencing persistent lower back pain. My physiotherapist mentioned that tight glutes could be a factor. Is it possible that tight glute muscles are causing my lower back pain?

With PCOS, I often get lower body stiffness and back aches. Tight glutes can definitely pull on your lower back muscles, but it's best to consult a physiotherapist to see if that's the main cause for you.

Yes, absolutely! Sitting at my desk all day makes my glutes super tight, which directly triggers my lower back pain. Doing the pigeon stretch or figure-4 stretch for five minutes every evening has been a lifesaver.

I know how frustrating and draining it is when your lower back keeps hurting and nothing seems to work. When I finally realized my tight glutes were pulling on my back, stretching them brought so much emotional and physical relief.

This is one of the most common causes of lower back pain we discuss here. Tight glutes pull down on your pelvis, which stresses your lumbar spine. Regular stretching and avoiding long hours of sitting will help you a lot.

Yes, tight glutes directly pull on your pelvis and cause lower back pain. Stretching them out regularly helps immensely.
