Can thyroid issues cause low blood pressure?

I've been feeling quite lightheaded and dizzy sometimes, and my blood pressure readings are often on the lower side. I was told that thyroid can affect blood pressure. Can low blood pressure actually be a symptom of a thyroid issue?

Dekho, if your thyroid is underactive, it slows down your whole body including your heart rate, which can drop your blood pressure. Don't sit and wait for it to get worse. Drink some salt water for now and go see your doctor tomorrow.

When I had persistent low BP and dizziness, I visited a specialist at Apollo. They explained that hypothyroidism often lowers the heart rate and causes low blood pressure. It is best to consult your doctor directly so they can run the right tests and explain the connection clearly.

Actually, yes. I was feeling super weak and my BP was constantly low around 90/60. Got my blood tested and found out my TSH was sky high. Once I started taking the thyroid pill, both my energy and BP came back to normal.

I was just reading about this online because I have been feeling very lazy and lightheaded lately. It turns out that a sluggish thyroid really can lower your blood pressure and make you feel constantly tired. I think I will get my TSH checked soon.

Yes, it can happen, but please don't stress too much about it! Just make sure you stay hydrated, eat small meals throughout the day, and talk to your doctor. Once your thyroid levels are in control, your blood pressure will settle down easily.

Do not treat low blood pressure with extra salt or random herbal mixtures if you suspect thyroid issues. Low BP can sometimes indicate other endocrine issues like adrenal fatigue too. Get a proper thyroid and hormone panel test done and consult a registered physician.

It absolutely does. Hypothyroidism is known to slow down the cardiovascular system, which leads to low blood pressure. Instead of trying random fixes, just book a lab test and get your thyroid levels checked to fix the root problem.
