Can thyroid cause vision problems?

My vision has been getting worse, and I'm experiencing blurriness and sensitivity to light. My mother has an autoimmune thyroid condition, and she's always had eye issues. Could my vision problems be linked to thyroid?

Yes, especially with hyperthyroidism, it can cause dry eyes or double vision. Along with keeping up my fitness and eating a nutrient-dense diet, getting my thyroid levels managed by my doctor was key to protecting my eye health.

Please stay positive, our eyes can sometimes feel the strain of our hormonal imbalances. Thyroid issues can indeed cause dry or blurry vision. Take deep breaths, rest your eyes, and definitely seek guidance from a good doctor.

I was actually researching this recently because my mom has thyroid issues, and yes, thyroid eye disease is a real thing. It can cause bulging eyes, dryness, or blurry vision. It's quite serious, so it should definitely be evaluated by an ophthalmologist.

For mild dry eyes, cool water splashes help, but vision changes are not something to treat with home remedies. Thyroid issues can cause serious pressure behind the eyes. Please consult an eye specialist and your endocrinologist immediately.

Please do not delay checking this. My cousin ignored his blurry vision, which turned out to be severe thyroid-related eye pressure, and it almost damaged his optic nerve permanently. Get an immediate checkup from both an ophthalmologist and your endocrinologist.

I started getting double vision and super dry eyes last year when my thyroid went crazy. Don't ignore it. Go straight to a doctor, they adjusted my thyroid pills and referred me to an eye doctor, which fixed it.

Lately, my eyes feel very dry and my vision is getting blurry at times. I am so scared this is thyroid eye disease. Has anyone else experienced this? I've booked an eye checkup for tomorrow morning.
