Can thyroid cause missed periods?

My periods have been very irregular lately, and I've missed them completely a couple of times, which is unusual for me. My friend mentioned that thyroid problems can affect menstrual cycles. Is it possible that my missed periods are due to a thyroid imbalance?

Please don't ignore this. My periods were missing for months because of my thyroid, and because I delayed seeing a doctor, it led to severe hormonal complications and cysts later on. Get your thyroid and pelvic ultrasound done as soon as possible.

Yes, thyroid hormones directly affect your reproductive cycle and can cause missed or irregular periods. Along with your regular medical treatment, doing gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom daily helped me balance my body. Take care and listen to your doctor.

Oh, thyroid is the ultimate drama queen of hormones. It can absolutely make your periods play hide and seek for months! Don't panic, just visit your gynac and get your blood test done so they can fix your hormone levels.

Yes, it can cause missed periods. Before going to an expensive doctor, I booked a basic thyroid profile test online from a local lab which cost me around 350-400 rupees. This way, you save on double doctor visits and can show them the reports on your first consultation.

I totally get it, missing periods is so stressful and exhausting. Thyroid imbalance is one of the most common reasons behind irregular cycles. Please be gentle with yourself, book an appointment with an endocrinologist, and they will help get your cycle back on track.
