Can thyroid cause hot flashes?

I'm in my late 60s and have been getting these sudden, intense hot flashes, even at night. I thought it was just menopause related, but a friend who has thyroid issues mentioned she experienced similar. Can thyroid problems cause hot flashes like these?

Dealing with hormonal issues like PCOS has taught me how interconnected our systems are. Yes, an overactive thyroid can definitely cause hot flashes and heat intolerance. Since hormones are very sensitive, please consult an endocrinologist to get a safe and proper diagnosis.

I tried drinking cold mint water and using sandalwood packs, but honestly, when thyroid causes hot flashes, these home remedies only give temporary relief. You really need to get your thyroid levels checked and take the proper medication prescribed by a doctor to balance your body heat.

My doctor explained that hyperthyroidism speeds up the body's metabolism, which raises your core body temperature and triggers hot flashes. It is often confused with menopause symptoms. Getting a TSH, T3, and T4 blood test is the most scientific way to confirm if your thyroid is the cause.

Yes, thyroid actually messes up your body's temperature control, yaar. You suddenly feel super hot out of nowhere and start sweating. Don't ignore it, just get a simple blood test done and show it to a specialist.

Oh my god, I have been getting these sudden waves of intense heat and sweating, especially at night, and it's making me so anxious. Does anyone else with thyroid issues feel this way? I am planning to see a doctor soon, but I really want to know if this is common.

Ho na, thyroid can definitely cause sudden sweating and hot flashes, especially if it is hyperthyroidism. My cousin used to complain about this heat all the time. It is better to get a thyroid profile test done to see if the levels are high.

Yes, thyroid can make you feel like you are sitting inside a tandoor even when the AC is on full blast! Don't worry, your body is just having a little hormonal party. Go get your blood tested so the doctor can calm down your internal heater.
