Can throwing up cause a stroke?

I had a really bad bout of food poisoning last month, with continuous vomiting. A relative once mentioned that very forceful throwing up can be dangerous, so I'm wondering, can excessive vomiting actually lead to a stroke?

Bro, that sounds super scary but honestly, I don't think simple vomiting causes a stroke directly. Unless there is some crazy rare condition, you shouldn't worry too much. Just stay hydrated after throwing up.

This sounds like an extreme theory you might have read on some random forum. Don't trust internet horror stories. If you or someone else is throwing up and showing stroke signs like slurred speech or weakness, call an ambulance instead of searching online.

Dealing with PCOS has taught me that the body is very interconnected, but a stroke from throwing up seems highly unusual. I think severe strain can sometimes affect blood pressure, but it's best to discuss this with a doctor to be absolutely safe.

Beta, throwing up causes sudden pressure changes in the body and drains your energy. We usually give warm water with honey and mint to settle the stomach. But if you are experiencing any facial drooping or difficulty speaking, seek medical help immediately without any delay.

Vomiting puts a lot of pressure on your head and neck, which might make you feel dizzy or give you a headache. I always take ginger water to calm my stomach. However, if there is severe pain or vision changes, forget home remedies and see a doctor.

Honestly, I had severe food poisoning last month and was throwing up non-stop. My head was throbbing like crazy and I got scared too, but it was just dehydration. If you have sudden numbness or weakness though, that's a red flag to hit the hospital.

Haan na, even I feel very weak and dizzy after throwing up sometimes. But stroke feels a bit too extreme, ho na? Just rest properly and drink some lemon water, you will feel better.

I totally understand why you are asking this, health anxiety makes us think of the worst possible scenarios. It is very unlikely for normal vomiting to cause a stroke, so try to take a deep breath. But if you have severe headache or numbness, go to the emergency room immediately.
