Can the shingles vaccine cause a fever?

My doctor recommended I get the shingles vaccine, and I'm planning to get it next week. My neighbour said she felt a bit feverish after her shot, so I wanted to ask, is it common for the shingles vaccine to cause a fever?

Hey, don't worry. A mild fever after the shingles vaccine is actually very common and just means your immune system is responding well. It should settle down in 2-3 days, but if it goes very high, do call your doctor.

Yes, absolutely! My mother got her shingles vaccine last month and had a mild fever and body aches for about two days. Just rest up, drink lots of water, and it should pass soon.

Yes, fever is a common side effect of this vaccine. Keep a paracetamol handy after asking your doctor, get plenty of rest, and don't plan any heavy physical work for at least two days after the shot.

A low-grade fever, muscle pain, and fatigue are well-documented side effects of the shingles vaccine, reflecting your body's immune response. These symptoms typically resolve within 48 to 72 hours. However, consult your doctor if the fever persists.

I totally get it, feeling feverish and weak after taking a vaccine can make you quite uneasy. It is just your body building up protection. Take a warm bath, rest, and consult your doc if it doesn't settle.

Yes, it is quite normal to get a mild fever after this vaccine. Just try to rest as much as you can, and you will feel much better by tomorrow.
