Can the kidney repair itself?

My father is having some early-stage kidney problems, and we are trying to find out all possible ways to manage it. I was curious if the kidney can actually repair itself from some types of damage, or if once it's damaged, it's permanent?

Yes, kidneys can repair themselves from sudden, acute injuries if treated timely, but chronic damage is irreversible. Proper hydration and seeing a doctor are key.

I tried many ayurvedic drinks and strict diets when my husband's kidney levels went slightly high, but honestly, those only help with general health. For actual kidney repair, medical intervention is necessary. Please don't rely only on home remedies for such sensitive organs.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! If it's just a sudden spike due to some heavy medication or severe dehydration, kidneys are pretty resilient and can bounce back with proper care. Just keep drinking water and follow what your doctor says, you'll be fine!

Yes, acute kidney damage can heal, but chronic kidney disease cannot be reversed. Please consult a nephrologist for proper guidance.

Kidney recovery depends entirely on whether the damage is acute or chronic. Because kidney function is extremely critical for survival, you should never guess. Please get a proper kidney function test (KFT) and consult a doctor immediately to be safe.
