Can testosterone cause cancer?

My doctor suggested I might benefit from testosterone therapy for low energy levels. I'm researching it, but I'm also concerned about the risks. Is there a possibility that taking testosterone could increase my risk of developing cancer?

This is a very common question here. Standard testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doesn't directly cause prostate cancer, but if someone already has undetected cancer cells, it can sometimes accelerate their growth. That's why doctors always do thorough screenings before prescribing it.

My endocrinologist explained this to me in detail when I was considering TRT. He said there is no solid scientific evidence that testosterone therapy causes prostate cancer from scratch. However, since it can stimulate existing hormone-sensitive tumors, he insisted on doing a PSA test first to be absolutely safe.

Don't go by what gym trainers or random internet forums tell you about testosterone boosters or therapy. Hormone therapy can have serious side effects if self-administered. You must get your blood work done and verify everything with an experienced endocrinologist or urologist.

While testosterone therapy itself doesn't directly cause cancer under proper medical use, maintaining a clean lifestyle is crucial. Eating a balanced plant-based diet rich in antioxidants can help keep your prostate healthy. Always consult an oncologist or urologist for any direct hormone concerns.

I totally understand why you are worried about this, as hormone health can be so confusing and scary to read about. It’s natural to feel anxious about long-term risks like cancer. The good news is that under proper medical supervision, the risks are very closely monitored. Definitely talk to your doctor to ease your mind.

Look, if you are getting TRT from a certified doctor, they will monitor your PSA levels regularly, making it very safe. If you are planning to take self-prescribed anabolic steroids for bodybuilding, however, that carries high health risks. Get a doctor's opinion and don't take shortcuts.

Hello, I was recently advised to start testosterone therapy for fatigue, but I am really scared about the cancer risk. Does everyone have to get prostate tests regularly while taking this, and are there any natural ways to boost it instead? Thank you.
