Can tb cause pneumonia?

My grandfather has been having a persistent cough and feeling very weak. The doctor is doing some tests for TB. I also heard that TB can sometimes lead to other lung problems. Can TB cause pneumonia?

TB directly affects the lungs, so it can easily lead to severe lung complications like pneumonia if not treated early. I keep my BP in check with regular walks and quarterly checkups, and I suggest you also get routine chest scans if you have a lung issue. Take care and stay proactive.

Yes, absolutely, and it can turn very serious very quickly. I ignored a bad cough which turned into fluid in my lungs and severe pneumonia, landing me in the hospital for two weeks. Please don't wait around, consult a doctor immediately if you have chest discomfort or breathing issues.

Warm ginger honey tea and steam inhalation can help ease normal chest congestion. But since TB and pneumonia are both very serious lung infections, please don't rely only on home remedies. Go straight to a specialist and start proper medical treatment.

Yes, TB can damage the lungs and make them vulnerable to secondary infections like pneumonia. Please get a chest X-ray done to understand the exact condition of your lungs.

A compromised lung from TB can definitely get hit by pneumonia. When you're recovering, eating a high-protein diet really helps rebuild lung tissue and strength. Don't worry about workouts now, just rest completely and do light breathing exercises if your doc gives the green light.
