Can tb be dormant?

My neighbour was recently diagnosed with TB, and now I'm worried because we share a wall. Someone told me the bacteria can stay hidden for a long time without symptoms. Is this true?

Yes, it absolutely can. My doctor explained that it's called latent TB, where the bacteria sits quietly in your body without making you sick or infectious. But if your immunity drops, it can wake up, which is why they sometimes treat it even when it's dormant. Better to get a clear test done and ask a pulmonologist about this.

Honestly, yes, dormant TB is super common in India. Most of us might actually carry the inactive bacteria without even knowing it because our immune system keeps it under control. Don't stress too much but if you have any doubts, just get a simple blood test or Mantoux test done to be absolutely sure.

Aapki immunity strong rahe toh dormant TB active nahi hota, isiliye haldi doodh aur achha ghar ka khana khayein. Par agar aapko lagatar khansi, halka बुखार ya weight loss feel ho raha hai, toh natural nuskhe chhod kar turant doctor ko dikhana chahiye. Bilkul laparwahi mat karein.

I was actually reading about this last week because a friend's family member had a scare. It's crazy how the TB bacteria can just sleep inside the lungs for years without showing a single symptom. Apparently, it only becomes a problem if your body gets weak or highly stressed.

Ji bilkul, mere bete ke case mein bhi doctor ne yahi bola tha ki bacteria body mein chup kar baitha hai. Hum toh darr gaye the par doctor ne thoda sa treatment dekar sab theek kar diya. Bachhon mein ho ya badon mein, time pe check karwana sabse sahi rehta hai.

Maine shuruat mein thodi khansi aur thakan ko normal soch kar ignore kiya tha aur baad mein meri halat bahut kharab ho gayi. Dormant TB kab active ho jaye pata nahi chalta. Agar thoda sa bhi doubt hai toh please doctor ke paas jao aur checkup karwa lo, baad mein pachtana nahi padega.
