Can't walk lower back pain?

My lower back pain suddenly got much worse today, and now I can barely walk or even move. Every step sends a sharp pain through my back and legs. I can't even stand up straight. What could be the cause of this sudden severe pain?

Bhai, if the pain is so bad that you cannot even step on your feet, please don't move around or force yourself. Just lie down flat on a hard cot or bed. Ask your family to call a doctor home or take you in a car carefully.

Haan yaar, back pain that stops you from walking is really scary, na? Try putting a pillow under your knees while lying down, it gives instant relief to the lower spine. But don't wait long, consult an orthopedic doctor soon to check for nerve compression.

When the back is in acute spasm, do not attempt any yoga poses or stretching exercises at all. Simply lie down in Shavasana with your legs slightly elevated. Let the acute inflammation subside first, and only practice gentle pranayama for pain management.

Haan na, if you can't even walk, it is a very big issue. Don't try any local massage or allow anyone to pull your legs. Just rest flat on your back and take a doctor's appointment immediately to see what is wrong.

Absolute bed rest is actually outdated advice, but if you literally cannot walk, you are in the acute phase. Rest for a day or two, get a doctor's clearance, and then start extremely gentle, short walks. Moving slowly helps pump nutrients back into the spinal discs.

Severe pain like this can make your blood pressure shoot up drastically, which happened to me last year. Please monitor your BP along with your back symptoms. Go to a hospital where they can manage both pain relief and keep your vitals stable.
