Can't straighten finger without pain?

One of my fingers has been feeling stiff for a while, and now it's gotten to the point where I can't straighten it without a lot of pain. It sometimes feels like it catches. My mother also had similar issues with her hands as she got older.

Bhai, please don't pull or twist your finger forcefully thinking it is just a catch. Sometimes the tendon gets stuck inside. Put your hand in warm salt water for some time, but please show it to a local doctor in town soon.

I totally panicked when my ring finger got stuck in a bent position and clicked painfully whenever I tried to straighten it. I thought I needed surgery, but the doctor said it was just 'trigger finger' and cured it with a simple splint and some rest. It is very treatable, so don't worry.

My grandmother suggested applying warm sesame oil, which does help soothe minor stiffness. However, for finger lock issues, it is always best to consult an orthopedic doctor. They can check if there is any tendon inflammation that needs specific medical care.

Oh, that sounds so painful and annoying! 😟 It could be a simple tendon catch from typing too much or a minor strain. Try giving that hand some complete rest today and see a doc if the locking doesn't stop. Take care! ✨

Please go get this checked by an ortho doctor right away. I ignored a clicking finger pain for months thinking it would go away, and it ended up getting permanently stiff, requiring a longer treatment. Early intervention is much easier and painless.

Haan yaar, this sounds like trigger finger, click sound aata hai na straighten karte waqt? Mere mama ko bhi hua tha. Do not massage it too hard, just keep it resting and show a doctor once, simple treatment se theek ho jata hai.

Sometimes joint and tendon stiffness can be aggravated by inflammatory foods or lack of hydration. Try adding more anti-inflammatory spices like turmeric to your diet, and keep your body well-hydrated. But do consult a doctor to check for trigger finger.
