Can't stop vomiting and diarrhea?

For the last 12 hours, I've had non-stop vomiting and diarrhea. I can't keep anything down, and I feel so drained. My whole body aches now. Is this just a bad stomach bug, or should I be more concerned and see a doctor?

Please rest as much as you can. Sip some simple ORS water slowly and let your stomach settle. I hope you feel much better very soon.

Your muscles are going to feel completely flat and weak due to glycogen and water loss. Forget about your workouts or protein intake for the next few days. Focus 100% on recovery, sodium-potassium balance, and clean, bland carbohydrates like white rice.

Please do not take this lightly; I once ignored severe stomach flu and ended up in the ICU with kidney failure due to extreme dehydration. If you cannot keep even a single teaspoon of water down, go to the hospital emergency room immediately for IV fluids.

Don't panic, it is highly likely just a standard stomach bug that will pass. Just take small, frequent sips of liquids rather than gulping them down, which triggers vomiting. Keep a close watch on your strength, and we will get a doctor to check you if it continues tomorrow.

This is the ultimate punishment for eating that extra spicy schezwan fried rice! For now, bid goodbye to all spices and stick strictly to plain curd rice or boiled bananas. Your gut needs a complete break from our food adventures.

Please avoid dairy products completely right now, except for fresh buttermilk with a pinch of salt and cumin. Boiled apple sauce or simple white rice with curd is very gentle on the stomach. Do not eat any raw salads or heavy lentils until your digestion is normal.

Ah, the classic double attack where you don't know which side to face the toilet! My body does this every time I try outside street food nowadays. Keep some electrolyte water handy and stay close to the washroom, we are not young anymore!

Is there a stomach virus going around right now? I started having these exact symptoms since yesterday morning and I am so scared of getting dehydrated. Have any of you recovered from this without going to the hospital?

Running to the bathroom every twenty minutes at 3 AM is my current workout routine. I am so tired I could sleep on the commode itself. Pro-tip: don't even try to sleep deeply tonight, just keep the hydrated saline water bottle next to you.

The main goal right now is preventing dehydration, not stopping the motions instantly because your body is flushing out infection. Drink one cup of ORS solution for every loose stool you pass. If you feel dizzy when standing up, go to a clinic for medical attention.

When you lose so much water, it can severely affect your body's electrolyte balance and thyroid medication absorption. Please consult a doctor for a proper anti-diarrheal prescription instead of waiting. It is best to get a complete blood test once you recover.

Had this bad gastroenteritis last month after eating some stale chicken. I literally couldn't step out of the room. I took some electrolyte packets and a doctor prescribed an antibiotic which cleared it up in two days, so just see a doc.
