Snoring can sometimes be a sign of sleep apnea, which really worries me when my husband does it. I constantly worry if he is breathing properly or if his oxygen levels are dropping. Please ask him to get a sleep study done just to rule out any serious health issues.

Try to stay calm and not let the irritation take over your mind, as anger will only keep you more awake. Maybe gentle earplugs can help block the noise while you focus on deep, peaceful breathing. Take care of your peace.

Severe snoring is often related to nasal obstruction or sleep apnea, which needs medical evaluation. Rather than just using earplugs, it is best to consult an ENT specialist or a sleep doctor for a proper diagnosis. It will help both of you get better sleep.

My husband's snoring increased when he gained weight due to an underlying thyroid issue. It is a good idea to suggest he gets his thyroid levels and a general blood profile checked. Regular doctor follow-ups really helped manage his symptoms.

This is a very common issue in many households. Try playing some white noise or soft instrumental music on your side of the bed to mask the snoring sound. Also, encourage your husband to avoid heavy meals and alcohol late at night, as they relax throat muscles and increase snoring.

My husband has just started snoring heavily recently and I am unable to sleep at all. Do those nasal strips that we see in advertisements actually work, or are they just a waste of money? I am a bit shy to ask a doctor about this.

In our time, we used to suggest a steam inhalation before bed to clear any nasal passage blockages. Obesity can also cause heavy snoring, so a simple walk in the evening and a light dinner can help. But if he gasps for breath, please show him to a doctor.

Before spending money on expensive machines, just try changing his sleeping position. Ask him to sleep on his side instead of his back, and use a slightly firm pillow. This simple trick solved the snoring problem in our house to a large extent.

My wife literally records my snoring to show me how loud it is, and honestly, I sound like a diesel generator. I don't blame her for throwing pillows at me at 3 AM. Sleeping in separate rooms on work nights is sometimes the only real solution!

I feel your pain, sleeping next to a loud snorer is an everyday battle. Earplugs have become my best friend.

As someone who deals with healthcare, I always advise people to look at the root cause. If the snoring is sudden, it could be allergies or a nasal block, so temporary antihistamines or a doctor-suggested nasal spray might help. Don't let him sleep on his back as it worsens airway blockage.

Don't buy those random anti-snoring sprays or mouthpieces sold online, they are mostly useless and can be unsafe. Snoring can be a medical issue, so it's best to verify the cause with a qualified ENT doctor. Get it checked professionally.
