Can't sleep before period?

Mere periods aane se pehle hamesha neend ki problem ho jaati hai. Kitni bhi tired rahoon, raat bhar neend nahi aati. Kya yeh normal hai PMS mein?

I used to ignore my severe pre-period insomnia for years, but it turned out my progesterone levels were very low. Please get a proper hormone profile and consult your gynecologist.

Haan, mere saath bhi har month yahi hota hai! Body temperature rise ho jata hai na before period, so sleep soundly nahi aati. Try cold water shower before bed.

This is very common due to hormonal drops. I face this almost every month 2 days before my period starts.

A light 20-minute walk in the evening really helped me manage PMS restlessness and improved my sleep. Just make sure to keep it gentle if your doctor has advised light activity.

Hormones affect both sleep and blood sugar levels during this time. Make sure you avoid sugary snacks or heavy carbs late at night even if you have cravings, as it worsens sleep quality.

My mother always tells me to drink warm milk with a pinch of turmeric to calm the body during PMS. It does help relax, but do consult your doctor if the sleep issues are very severe.

I was researching this and found out that estrogen levels drop drastically right before your cycle, which affects serotonin and sleep. It's crazy how much hormones control our nights!
