Can't break fever?

My little one has had a high fever for two days now, and it's not coming down easily even with medicine. I'm really worried because I can't seem to break the fever. What else can I do?

I am so sorry you are going through this. Having a stubborn fever is very tiring and worrying. Please keep sipping water to stay hydrated, rest completely, and let your body heal. I hope you feel better very soon.

Man, a high fever that won't go down is the absolute worst, you are freezing and sweating at the same time. I remember staying awake all night just changing wet cloth strips on my forehead while feeling like a zombie. Honestly, if paracetamol isn't working, just call your doctor.

While you are trying to break the fever, keep your diet extremely light and easy to digest. Avoid any heavy, oily food and stick to simple moong dal khichdi or warm vegetable soups. But remember, food can only support you; if the temperature is high, you must see a doctor.

Having PCOS, my immune system sometimes reacts very slowly to infections, making fevers drag on. If your fever is not breaking after a couple of days, please don't try to self-manage with random pills. It's much safer to contact your doctor and get the right blood tests done.

Haan, jab fever upar neeche hota rehta hai toh bohot pareshani hoti hai na. Agar garm pani ki patti rakhne se aur medicine se bhi fever kam nahi ho raha, toh bina soche doctor ke paas jao. Aaj kal viral bohot fail raha hai, toh risk bilkul mat lena.

In our family, elders always suggest drinking warm kanji or herbal rasam when we have a fever. While these home remedies give comfort, a high fever that is not breaking definitely needs a doctor's attention. Please visit your clinic and get a proper checkup.

When you have a fever, your body is using all its energy to fight the infection, so you must completely stop any workout or physical activity. Just rest in bed and drink plenty of fluids. Only when your doctor says you are 100% fine should you think about getting back to your routine.
