Can swimmer's ear cause a fever?

My son just came back from swimming camp, and he has a terrible earache that the doctor says is swimmer's ear. He also has a slight fever. Can swimmer's ear be severe enough to cause a fever?

I spend a lot of time in the pool for my cardio sessions and have had swimmer's ear a couple of times. Usually, it is just localized pain, but if a fever kicks in, it means the infection is spreading past the outer ear. When that happens, you need to pause your training, stay hydrated, and get an doctor to check it out.

Haan ji, bilkul ho sakta hai. If water stays in the ear, the infection can grow and the body gets warm to fight it off. Please do not put any home oils or search for self-treatment in this case. Just visit a local doctor who can clean it safely and give you proper drops.

I don't know much about ear infections specifically, but dealing with PCOS has taught me that any sudden fever means your body's immune system is under stress. It is best not to ignore it or wait for it to clear up on its own. Getting a gentle consultation with an ENT specialist will help keep you safe.

I am feeling a bit scared because my ear is hurting after swimming last Sunday and I feel slightly warm today. Is a fever a sign of a really serious ear emergency, or can it be cured easily with simple drops from a clinic?

For diabetic patients like me, any minor infection can quickly turn serious if our blood sugars are slightly high. A fever is a clear sign of infection, and we must never take it lightly. If you have diabetes or any other health condition, please see a doctor immediately to prevent the ear infection from spreading.

Getting a fever with an earache means you shouldn't delay, or the treatment costs will only go up if it gets complicated. Skip the expensive general clinics and go straight to a government hospital OPD or a trusted local ENT doc. A basic consultation and cheap antibiotic drops should sort it out without burning a hole in your pocket.

Oh God, ear infections with fever always make me panic so much because I worry about the infection reaching the brain. Try not to stress too much, but definitely don't sleep on this tonight. Please get an ENT specialist to look at it as soon as possible so you can get peace of mind and the right treatment.
