Can supplements cause liver issues?

I've been taking a new protein powder and some multivitamins for a few months now as part of my fitness routine. My doctor recently mentioned checking liver function. Can supplements cause issues with the liver?

These modern vitamin and protein pills can burden the liver unnecessarily. In our days, we had warm milk with turmeric or simple amla juice to keep the liver healthy. Try to reduce these outside tablets and focus on fresh, home-cooked meals.

Absolutely, unprescribed liver detox pills or fat burners can actually cause liver toxicity. Don't fall for marketing gimmicks. If you suspect any liver issue, stop all supplements immediately and get an LFT blood test done.

Certain herbal supplements and high-dose Vitamin A are known to cause drug-induced liver injury. My hepatologist friend always warns that 'natural' doesn't always mean safe. Always consult a medical professional before starting any long-term supplement.

Yes, overusing supplements, especially those meant for rapid muscle gain or weight loss, is a common cause of liver strain. Focus on eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and drinking plenty of water. If you feel persistently fatigued or see yellowish eyes, see a doctor immediately.

While some supplements are necessary for deficiencies, self-prescribing heavy doses can lead to liver toxicity. A balanced diet is usually sufficient for most people. It is always best to let a doctor decide if you actually need any extra pills.

I started taking some heavy weight-loss supplements last year and within two months, my liver enzyme tests came back very high. Once I stopped the supplements on my doctor's advice, my liver values returned to normal.

I was researching about green tea extract supplements and was shocked to find they can cause liver inflammation in high doses. It's crazy how easily we buy these over-the-counter pills without realizing the potential side effects.

Our body has a beautiful natural system to cleanse itself when we eat pure, sattvik food. Piling on synthetic supplements can sometimes disturb this peace and strain the liver. Take care of your health gently and stay positive.
