Can sun exposure cause eczema?

My skin gets really itchy and red after spending time outside in the sun, even with sunscreen sometimes. I have sensitive skin, and I'm wondering if sun exposure can cause eczema to flare up. What are the chances?

Yes, UV rays and sweat are classic triggers for eczema flares. I've dealt with this for years, and the best trick is to apply a physical sunscreen and wash off sweat as soon as you get indoors. Don't let sweat sit on your skin.

I have noticed my skin gets extra sensitive to the sun because of hormonal inflammation. While I am not sure if it directly causes eczema, it definitely triggers my skin redness. Wearing loose cotton clothes helps a lot.

Yes, it can trigger a flare-up. If you commute daily, carry an umbrella and keep a mild moisturizer handy. Don't ignore the early signs of redness; see a dermatologist before it gets worse.

Honestly, between my late-night shifts and the burning afternoon sun, my skin is completely confused. Yes, the sun makes me scratch like crazy. I just stay indoors as much as possible now.

Oh god, this is so worrying! I get so scared of going out in summers now because of these red patches. Is it permanent, or does it fade once you stay indoors? Please protect your skin.

The hot sun really worsens skin itching. Try applying fresh aloe vera gel or a cucumber paste to cool down the irritated skin after coming home. It gives great relief naturally.

Yes, photosensitive eczema is very common. Just use a high-quality SPF 50 sunscreen block and avoid peak sun hours. No need to stress, just manage it smartly.
