Can sun cause eczema?

I suffer from eczema, and in the summer, my skin often flares up. I try to stay out of direct sunlight, but it's hard to avoid completely. Can exposure to the sun directly cause eczema to appear or worsen it?

Haan, the harsh summer sun and sweat can make the skin very itchy and red. Try to stay in the shade and wear loose cotton clothes to keep the skin cool. God bless you.

Oh no, I love going out but now I'm constantly worried about getting red patches from the sun! Sweat makes the itching so much worse. Be very careful and carry an umbrella always.

Yes, extreme heat and sweat disrupt the skin's natural barrier. Practicing sheetali pranayama helps cool down the body's internal temperature, which can soothe the skin. Always cover yourself with a cotton cloth when going out.

Yes, photosensitive eczema is a real condition where UV rays directly trigger flares. Sweat can also act as an irritant. It is best to consult a dermatologist for a suitable physical sunscreen and treatment plan.
