I recently had a bad case of sulfur burps due to a stomach infection, and the rotten-egg smell was so disgusting it made me vomit. It's usually a sign of slow digestion or bacteria. Drinking plenty of water and eating light helped me recover in a few days.
I went through this last month and honestly, it was so embarrassing and physically exhausting. The constant nausea and vomiting made me feel miserable and anxious to even leave the house. I completely understand how awful you must be feeling right now.
Sulfur burps usually point to indigestion or an intestinal issue, which can definitely lead to vomiting if ignored. Don't sit through work with this discomfort. Take a day off, eat simple khichdi, and see a doctor if it doesn't settle by tomorrow.
The bad smell itself can trigger nausea, leading to vomiting. Try sipping warm fennel (saunf) water or ginger tea to soothe your stomach lining. However, if the vomiting is severe or you have a high fever, please consult a doctor immediately.
My son had these horrible rotten-egg burps and ended up vomiting because his stomach was completely upset. I gave him simple buttermilk with roasted cumin and kept him on a bland diet. Keep them hydrated, but please see a pediatrician if it continues.
If you recently started taking Ozempic for weight loss or diabetes and suddenly noticed burps that smell ...
Actually yaar, that rotten-egg smell is so bad that anyone would feel like vomiting! It usually happens when food is sitting in your stomach for too long. Avoid heavy cheese or fried food for a couple of days and drink lots of water.
Look, if you are burping sulfur and vomiting, your stomach is clearly infected or heavily upset. Stop eating outside food immediately and drink warm water. If it doesn't get better in 24 hours, go to a clinic instead of waiting.
