Can stress induce fever?

With board exams coming up, I'm feeling super anxious. Sometimes I get a slight fever, even when I don't feel sick otherwise. My mom says it's just my body reacting to the stress. Is it possible for stress to cause a fever?

Haan bilkul, stress se fever ho sakta hai na! My cousin literally gets warm body temperature whenever he has to face a major job interview. Isko psychogenic fever bolte hain, bas thoda rest karo aur dimaag shaant rakho.

Yes, extreme emotional stress can physically heat up your body, causing a mild fever. It is a real reaction called psychogenic fever.

I literally got a 100-degree fever right before my college presentation last semester because of pure panic. My doctor told me it was just my nervous system acting up. Once the presentation was over, my temperature went back to normal.

See, when you are under too much tension, the body's immunity drops and you easily catch cold or mild fever. The best solution is to drink warm water, take a simple steam, and sleep early. Don't worry too much, it usually settles down with rest.

In my years, I have seen many people get a warm body during times of family grief or heavy work pressure. The body simply tired out from carrying too much worry. Rest your mind, drink some hot tea, and you will feel better.
