Can stress cause throat pain?

Feeling constantly overwhelmed with my teaching duties and household chores, I've had a persistent scratchy throat for the last two weeks, but no other cold symptoms. Could this throat pain be related to my high stress levels?

Haan bhai, stress se throat me tightness aur dry feel hone lagta hai na. Jab bhi bohot anxiety hoti hai, gala bilkul sookh jata hai aur dukhne lagta hai. Thoda gunguna paani piyo aur chill karo.

Actually yaar, high stress can trigger acid reflux, which travels up and causes throat pain or that 'lump in the throat' feeling. Mere saath bhi hua tha, once I managed my stress, it just vanished.

Stress se acidity hoti hai aur gala jalne lagta hai. Simple solution hai ki dinner jaldi karo, sote samay sir thoda uncha rakho aur dinbhar paani peete raho. Jyada pareshani ho toh doctor se milo.

You can gargle with warm salt water and drink herbal tea to soothe the throat. However, if you also have a high fever or trouble swallowing, please see a doctor immediately as it could be an infection.

Under stress, we do shallow breathing which strains the throat muscles. Practicing slow, deep breathing or gentle chanting helps relax the vocal cords and relieves that tight throat discomfort beautifully.

With my 15-hour workdays and continuous stress, my throat is constantly dry and sore. Yes, stress absolutely tightens those throat muscles. A good nap is probably the best medicine, if we can find the time!

I panicked so much when I had a constant lump and pain in my throat during a tough month. The doctor reassured me it was Globus Pharyngeus, which is just throat muscle tension from stress. It is very common and harmless.

I read that during stress, the body releases histamines and increases muscle tension, which can make your throat feel tight and painful. It is amazing how our emotions physically impact us. Try to relax and hydrate.
