Can stress cause physical pain?

I've been feeling a lot of pressure at work, and with that, I've started having constant headaches and back pain, even without any physical injury. Can stress manifest as actual physical pain in the body?

Yes, stress can cause severe muscle aches. I used to think my body pain was just stress, but later found out my thyroid levels were totally off. Please get a regular blood panel done and consult your doctor to rule other things out.

Internet forums will tell you to drink ginger tea or do random stretches for body pain. Honestly, don't rely on online gyaan for physical pain. Go see a proper doctor to get a correct diagnosis before assuming it is just stress.

Please do not ignore this thinking it is just everyday work stress. I ignored my body pain for months, blaming my busy schedule, and it turned out to be a serious nerve issue that took a long time to heal. Go get yourself checked by a specialist now.

I completely understand what you are going through, and yes, your pain is very real. When my anxiety was at its peak, my whole body used to ache like I had a flu. Our mind and body are deeply connected, so please be gentle with yourself.

Stress leads to a lot of muscle tightness, especially in the neck and shoulders. If your doctor says it is safe, try going for a light walk daily or doing some gentle stretching. It really helps release those stress hormones and relieves the physical tension.

When I had persistent back and chest pain, I went to a multi-specialty hospital to get fully checked. Stress can cause muscle tension, but you must ask your doctor clearly to run basic tests so you have total peace of mind.

Dekho yaar, dimaag me load loge toh sharir toh dukhna hi hai. Muscles tight ho jati hain stress se. Thoda aaram karo, kaam ka tension kam lo, par agar dard zyada hai toh doctor ke paas bhago, laparwahi mat karo.
