Can stress cause pcos?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I'm trying to understand all the factors. My doctor mentioned lifestyle changes, including stress management. Is there a connection, can stress cause PCOS?

My daughter was diagnosed with PCOS during her final board exams, and her doctor said high stress spikes cortisol, which directly disrupts insulin and reproductive hormones. We focused on reducing her stress and maintaining a simple routine. Please take care and consult a good gynecologist early.

Stress plays a huge role in endocrine health, but since PCOS has genetic and metabolic factors too, it is best to be cautious. Don't try to self-diagnose based on stress levels. Get your fasting insulin and hormone levels checked by an endocrinologist.

Look, stress might not directly create PCOS out of nowhere, but it absolutely acts like fuel to fire for hormonal imbalance. Stop sitting and stressing over it. Go get your thyroid and pelvic ultrasound done through a proper doctor.

My wife visited a specialist at Manipal Hospital for her irregular periods, and the doctor explained how mental stress triggers insulin resistance, worsening PCOS. I highly suggest visiting a good hospital and asking your gynecologist to explain the lifestyle changes you need.

Drinking spearmint tea and eating healthy, home-cooked meals can help manage hormone levels naturally. However, PCOS is a complex metabolic issue, so you should not rely only on home tips. Please get an ultrasound and hormone tests done under a doctor's guidance.
