Can stress cause neck pain?

I've been having persistent neck pain for months, and no amount of massage helps. My doctor said my posture is okay, but I'm under a lot of stress with my children's studies. Can stress be the cause of my neck pain?

I literally just recovered from a terrible neck spasm that started during a very stressful work week. My physiotherapist told me I was unconsciously tensing my shoulders and neck while typing under pressure. Regular hot fermentation and gentle stretching made a huge difference.

Our neck carries the physical weight of our worries and thoughts. Staying positive and doing 5 minutes of gentle neck rotations along with deep breathing can help release this tension. Please take care of your health and consult a doctor if the pain is severe.

I have been getting this stiff neck and a dull ache at the base of my skull for the past two weeks because of family tension. Has anyone else felt this exact same thing? I am getting a bit worried if it's something more serious.

I always panic and think my neck pain is something scary like cervical spondylosis whenever I am stressed. But usually, it is just severe muscle tension from overthinking and holding stress. Try to stay calm, use a good pillow, and definitely see a doctor if you want to ease your mind.

Neck pain from stress is very common. Instead of spending money on expensive gel rubs or fancy neck braces, just use a basic hot water bag and check your sitting posture. If it doesn't get better in three days, go to a local physiotherapist or a GP.
