Can stress cause kidney pain?

I've been experiencing a dull ache in my lower back, sometimes feeling like it's my kidneys. There's nothing else wrong, no infection symptoms. Could this kidney pain be a manifestation of the intense stress I'm under from my new job?

As a diabetic, I have to be extremely careful with kidney health because high sugar and stress can affect them. Sometimes what we think is kidney pain is actually just muscle spasms from tension. But please get a urine routine test done to make sure there is no infection or sugar leakage.

Dude, during our semester exams, I got this sharp pain in my lower back and thought my kidneys were failing because of stress. Turns out I was just sitting in a bad posture for 12 hours studying and barely drinking water. Keep drinking water and don't panic.

Haan yaar, stress se muscles thodi tight ho jaati hain toh back pain lagta hai kidney pain jaisa. But kidney ka mamla hai toh risk nahi lena chahiye na? Ek baar doctor ko dikha lo aur badhiya se checkup karwa lo, shanti mil jayegi.

Please don't assume pain in that area is just stress. I had mild back aches that I ignored, and it turned out to be a severe kidney infection that spread quickly. If the pain is sharp, comes with fever, or makes you feel nauseous, go to an emergency clinic immediately.

Honestly, I had this same issue last year during a rough patch at work. I felt a dull ache near my lower ribs and panicked. Doc did an ultrasound, kidneys were perfectly fine—it was just severe muscle tension from stress. Still, get a scan to be 100% sure.

Yes, stress can cause muscle tension that feels like kidney pain. Just drink plenty of water and see a doctor if it doesn't stop.
