Can stress aggravate asthma?

My asthma seems to act up much more severely during stressful periods, like when I have big deadlines at work. Does stress actually aggravate asthma symptoms?

Honestly, at my age, even a small argument with the neighbor makes my chest feel tight. Stress definitely kicks my asthma into high gear. If I am stressed, my inhaler becomes my best friend, which is not a very exciting friendship let me tell you.

I totally get it, dealing with this is so draining. Yes, stress really does trigger asthma flare-ups because your breathing pattern changes when you are anxious. Please take some quiet time for yourself when things get heavy, it really helps calm the lungs.

Bro, exam season literally ruins my lungs. Every time I stress about submissions, my wheezing starts out of nowhere. It is actually a proven thing that tension makes asthma worse, so I try to listen to music and just chill out.

It definitely does because stress releases hormones that can tighten your airways. I find that keeping my cardiovascular health in check with light cardio and clean eating helps a lot. Just make sure to monitor your breathing and don't push too hard when you are highly stressed.

Yeah, it absolutely can. Last year during my job interviews, my asthma got so bad because of the constant tension. I had to use my pump way more often. Once the interview phase cleared up, my chest felt much lighter.
