Can stomach ulcers cause cancer?

I've been dealing with stomach ulcers for quite some time now. My neighbour recently mentioned that if ulcers are left untreated, they can eventually turn into cancer. Is there any truth to this?

Don't panic reading random articles online that claim every ulcer turns into cancer. Most common ulcers are just due to acidity or H. pylori bacteria and heal with proper medicine. Get an endoscopy done and let a doctor clarify.

Actually, normal peptic ulcers don't turn into cancer yaar, but some chronic H. pylori infections can increase the risk over many years. Just get a proper checkup and don't take stress unnecessarily.

Most stomach ulcers are benign, but long-term untreated infections can rarely lead to complications. It is best to have a doctor check it via endoscopy.

If every stomach ulcer turned into cancer, half of India's spicy-food lovers would be in big trouble! Jokes apart, it is highly unlikely. Just get it checked by a doctor and stop googling your symptoms.

I ignored my chronic stomach pain for years and ended up with severe bleeding and ulcers that needed surgery. While it's rare for ulcers to turn into cancer, ignoring them is very dangerous. Go to a doctor and get an endoscopy done now.
