Can steroids cause fever?

I recently started a course of oral steroids for a bad allergic reaction. Since then, I've had a persistent low-grade fever. I'm not sure if it's related to the allergy or if the steroids themselves can cause a fever.

Actually yaar, steroids are usually given to reduce inflammation and fever. But if you get a fever while taking them, it could mean you have caught an infection, because steroids can lower your immunity. Don't ignore it, just check with your doc.

I once ignored a mild fever while on steroid therapy, thinking it was just a normal reaction. It turned out to be a severe chest infection that landed me in the hospital because my immunity was low. Please get checked by your doctor immediately if you run a fever.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to get a fever when you are already taking heavy medications like steroids. It makes you feel so helpless. Just remember that steroids suppress your immune system, making infections easier to catch, so calling your doctor is the safest step.

I panicked like crazy when my son got a fever during his steroid course. But our pediatrician reassured us that it is quite common to catch a minor cold or viral bug because steroids temporarily lower the body's defense. A quick dose adjustment solved it.

I have been awake since 4 AM with a headache, but let me tell you: steroids and fever are a tricky mix. Since steroids mask inflammation, running a fever means your body is really trying to point out an infection. Go get it checked instead of losing sleep like me!

Hey, as a medical professional, I can tell you that steroids themselves don't cause fever, but they suppress your immune response. This makes you more prone to minor bacterial or viral infections. If you have a temperature, call your physician so they can check for any infection.

Oh, running a fever while on steroids is the worst because it totally ruins your appetite! Usually, steroids make you want to eat everything in sight, but a fever just leaves a bad taste. Make sure you drink lots of warm soups and get your doctor to check the cause.
