Can statins cause back pain?

I started taking statins about two months ago for my cholesterol. Since then, I've developed a dull, constant ache in my lower back that wasn't there before. I'm wondering if this back pain could be a side effect of the statin medication.

I go to Max Hospital for my checkups, and my cardiologist specifically warned me that muscle aches can be a side effect. If your back pain started right after taking statins, you must ask your doctor clearly. They can easily adjust the dose or change the brand.

I completely understand what you are going through, I used to cry because of the constant lower back and leg stiffness. It made me feel so old and helpless. Please know your pain is real, and you don't have to just bear it silently. Talk to your doc, they helped me switch medications.

Listen buddy, don't stress too much about this. Yes, statins can cause some muscle stiffness and back pain sometimes, but it's very common. Just give your doctor a quick call, they will fix your dose and you'll be absolutely fine!

My dad had this exact issue last month and was complaining about bad back pain after starting his meds. Turns out muscle fatigue is a pretty common thing with statins. The doc gave him some vitamins and changed the timing, and he is chilling now.

Please do not start taking random herbs or oils from internet advice to cure this back pain. Statins have known side effects on muscles, but only a qualified doctor should diagnose if it's the medicine or something else. Schedule an appointment and get your CK levels tested if they suggest it.

My son had to take statins due to genetic high cholesterol and he started complaining of severe lower back pain during his college exams. We felt so bad seeing him struggle. We took him back to the pediatrician and cardiologist, who adjusted his dose immediately, which solved the issue.

Mera bhi back pain badh gaya tha statins ke saath. I started drinking warm milk with a pinch of haldi at night, and did simple back stretches daily. Also, check with your doctor if you need a Vitamin D3 supplement, because that really helps with the muscle weakness.
