Can statins cause a fatty liver?

My doctor recently prescribed statins for my high cholesterol. However, my friend warned me that these medicines can sometimes lead to liver problems. I'm worried about developing a fatty liver, so is there a connection?

Honestly, at this age, I feel like even drinking water might give me fatty liver! But jokes aside, my doc told me statins actually help lower liver fat in most cases. Sometimes the liver enzymes go a bit crazy on paper, but it is nothing to lose sleep over.

I actually read a few research papers on this because my father is on Atorvastatin. My family doctor clarified that statins are actually prescribed to treat non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, not cause it. He said a temporary rise in liver enzymes can happen initially, but it is totally different from getting a fatty liver.

Do not let these worries disturb your inner peace, dear. Our bodies have a beautiful way of healing when we take care of them with a calm mind. Statins are meant to protect your heart, so trust your doctor and just keep a positive outlook while eating clean.

Haan na, starting me mujhe bhi yahi tension tha jab report aayi thi. But doc said statins fatty liver nahi karte, safe hote hain body ke liye. Aap bas thoda walk aur healthy diet chalu rakho, sab normal ho jayega.

Haan bhai, tension mat lo, statins se fatty liver nahi hota balki doctor isi ko theek karne ke liye bhi dete hain kabhi kabhi. Thoda bohot report me upar neeche hota hai shuruat me, par darna mat na. Apne doctor se bas ek baar consult karke dhoop-panni thoda lifestyle badlo.
