Can spinach give you kidney stones?

My wife makes a lot of palak paneer, and I love spinach. But I recently heard that eating too much spinach can cause kidney stones. Is there any truth to this warning?

Haan na, actually spinach has high oxalates, which can form calcium oxalate stones. But don't worry, you don't have to stop eating palak completely! Just boil or cook it well and drink plenty of water, it helps a lot.

I have a super busy schedule, so I look for practical diet tips. Yes, spinach is high in oxalates which can contribute to stones if you consume it excessively without hydrating. Just drink 3 liters of water daily and don't overdo the green smoothies.

Spinach is great for fitness, but yes, it is high in oxalates. To balance it out, eat it with calcium-rich foods like paneer or curd so the oxalates bind in your gut instead of your kidneys. Also, stay active and keep your daily walking routine going to support overall kidney function.

There are too many exaggerated claims online about superfoods and stone risks. Yes, spinach has oxalates, but whether it will cause stones depends entirely on your individual body chemistry and hydration. Don't self-diagnose, speak to a urologist or a certified nutritionist.

Spinach does have a high amount of oxalates, which are a major component of most kidney stones. If you have a family history of stones or feel any lower back pain, it is always safer to get a kidney function test and consult a doctor.

Don't worry too much about it. Just eating spinach normally in your meals won't cause stones for most people, as long as you drink enough water throughout the day.

Managing my diabetes means keeping a close eye on everything I eat. While spinach is low-carb and great for blood sugar, those prone to kidney stones should consume it in moderation because of the oxalate content. Always check with your dietician for a balanced meal plan.

In our yogic diet, we emphasize balance. Spinach is highly nutritious, but in excess, its oxalic acid can load the kidneys. Drink lemon water and practice Kapalbhati to help keep the body's elimination processes active. Moderation is key.
