Can sperm cause stomach pain in a woman?

A few times, I've had some stomach pain after intimacy and I'm trying to figure out why. Is there any chance that sperm could be a reason for a woman to experience stomach pain?

I used to get mild stomach cramps right after intercourse, and my partner and I realized it happened more when he ejaculated inside. It felt like period cramps and went away in an hour. That was just my experience, but definitely check with a doc if it hurts a lot.

If you are planning to get this checked, a basic consultation at a local government hospital or a small private clinic won't cost much. Mild cramping can happen due to prostaglandins in semen, but before spending money on expensive scans, just get a basic doctor's opinion first.

While mild cramping can be a normal reaction to semen, please don't take stomach pain lightly. It could also be an undiagnosed pelvic infection or cyst. It is always safer to get a quick checkup done by a gynecologist.

Sometimes the pelvic muscles tighten up during and after intimacy, which feels like a stomach ache. Try practicing gentle deep abdominal breathing and Apansana (wind-relieving pose) to relax your lower body. If the pain is sharp, rest well and visit your physician.

It is quite common to feel a little heavy or crampy because semen can cause the uterus to contract. Just lie down straight, put a warm cloth on your lower abdomen, and see if it eases. If it keeps happening every time, mention it to your family doctor.

I was actually reading about this online because my girlfriend complained about it once. Apparently, semen contains compounds that act like natural triggers for uterine contractions. It's fascinating how the body works, but hope she feels better soon!

Please be very careful with ongoing abdominal pain. I once ignored 'mild cramps' thinking it was just a normal reaction, but it turned out to be a severe pelvic infection that required long treatment. Do not wait and get a proper gynecological exam.
