Can snoring cause throat pain?

Every morning when I wake up, my throat feels quite sore and scratchy, almost like I've been shouting all night. My wife often complains that I snore very loudly. Could my snoring be the reason for this constant throat pain?

Yeah bro, absolutely. I used to wake up with a totally dry, burning throat every morning because of loud mouth-snoring. Actually, keeping a humidifier in my room and sleeping on my side instead of my back helped a lot. Still, if it hurts too much daily, better see a doctor.

Please don't ignore this like I did for almost a year. I thought my daily dry and sore throat was just because of climate changes, but it turned out to be heavy sleep apnea due to snoring. Go to an ENT specialist and get a proper diagnosis before it affects your sleep quality further.

Look, if you keep your mouth wide open and snore all night, the dry air is bound to irritate your throat. It is very common to have mild soreness because of this. Try gargling with lukewarm salt water before sleeping. But if the pain is severe or you find it hard to swallow, don't sit at home, go see a doctor.

In my fifties, my snoring became very loud and I started waking up with throat irritation almost daily. My doctor explained that the tissues vibrate a lot, causing minor inflammation. Drinking warm water with honey helped soothe my throat back then. It's usually nothing to panic about, but get a checkup if it persists.

My roommate literally complains about my snoring every single day, and honestly, I wake up with a scratchy throat too. I think the mouth gets super dry when we snore. I started keeping a water bottle right next to my bed to sip immediately. It is normal but definitely super annoying!

I literally just recovered from this issue last month after trying everything. My throat pain was indeed due to snoring, which was caused by a minor nasal blockage. Once the doctor gave me a nasal spray to clear my breathing, the snoring stopped and my throat pain vanished completely.
