Can sleep deprivation make you nauseous?

My exam preparation is going on, so sleep has been very minimal these past few days. I keep feeling nauseous, especially in the mornings, and sometimes feel like I might throw up. Is it normal to feel so nauseous just from not sleeping well?

Yes, sleep deprivation can cause severe nausea. For me, poor sleep messes up my fasting sugar levels, which directly triggers a sick, nauseous feeling in the morning. Keep an eye on your meals and try to sleep on time.

Lack of sleep disrupts your autonomic nervous system, which can slow down digestion and cause nausea. While it is a common reaction to fatigue, if the nausea is persistent or accompanied by vomiting, a doctor's advice is always best.

As someone with PCOS, I have noticed that sleep deprivation makes my hormonal imbalance worse, leading to awful morning nausea. I try to manage it by drinking ginger water and sleeping early, but everyone's body is different so do consult your doctor.

I have seen this question quite often here, and yes, many people experience nausea due to fatigue. My simple tip is to avoid heavy or oily food when you are sleep-deprived, and sip on warm lemon water. Take proper rest tonight.

I completely understand how exhausting and frustrating that nausea can be, it used to make me feel so miserable and anxious to even eat. Just know that your body is just overwhelmed and needs deep, uninterrupted rest right now.

Actually yaar, whenever I sleep late because of work stress, I wake up feeling super nauseous. It is like my stomach refuses to wake up. Just drink some warm water and try to sleep early today, it really helps.

Yeah, definitely. Whenever I pull an all-nighter for gaming, I feel like throwing up the next morning. It is basically your body's way of telling you that you are messing up your system. Just sleep it off.
