Can sleep deprivation cause shortness of breath?

Struggling with insomnia for a while, I just can't seem to fall asleep or stay asleep. Recently, a feeling of shortness of breath, even when sitting, has started. Could this feeling of not getting enough air be linked to my severe lack of sleep?

Honestly, yes! Whenever I pull all-nighters, my body feels totally out of sync and even basic breathing feels a bit heavy 😴 Just get a solid 8 hours of sleep tonight and see, it usually gets much better!

Please don't ignore this. I used to think my breathing issues were just due to bad sleep and stress, but it turned out to be a heart issue that got worse because I delayed. Shortness of breath is a major red flag, so please see a doctor immediately to be safe.

Oh god, this happens to me too! I thought I was the only one who felt like I was running out of air after sleeping just 3-4 hours. Does anyone else also get a fast heartbeat along with this, or should I be worried?

I understand how scary it feels when you can't breathe properly. When I don't sleep well, my acidity shoots up and that also causes pressure on the chest. Try drinking some warm fennel water and rest, but if it doesn't improve, go to the clinic.

I totally get it, it can be really unsettling when you feel breathless after a bad night's sleep. Your body is basically crying out for rest. Just lie down, close your eyes, and if it still feels tight, please visit a doctor right away.
