Can sleep deprivation cause heart palpitations?

Since I started working night shifts, my sleep has been very disturbed. Sometimes I feel my heart fluttering or beating really fast, especially when I'm trying to sleep. Could this feeling, these heart palpitations, be because I'm not getting enough sleep?

Haan, bilkul hoti hai. Jab neend poori nahi hoti toh dimaag aur body stress mein rehte hain, jisse suddenly dil tez dhadakne lagta hai na. Isme ghabrana mat, thoda rest karo aur pani piyo, but doctor se consult zaroor kar lena.

Honestly, I had this last month. I was sleeping barely 4 hours due to project pressure, and my chest started fluttering suddenly during meetings. Once I fixed my sleep, the palpitations stopped. It's a clear warning from your body to rest.

I understand how scary that fluttering feeling in your chest is. Drinking a cold glass of water and taking deep, slow belly breaths helps calm it down instantly. But please treat this as a sign to fix your sleeping hours permanently.

At my age, missing sleep is like drinking five cups of strong black coffee. My heart starts dancing to its own rhythm! It is just a sign that our older bodies can't handle night outs anymore. Go sleep, my friend.

Yes, sleep deprivation spikes adrenaline and raises blood pressure, which causes palpitations. As someone with hypertension, I highly recommend getting your blood pressure checked and discussing this with a doctor to be completely safe.
