Can sleep deprivation cause fever?

My son stayed up really late playing video games and today he woke up with a slight fever. My mother-in-law said it's because he didn't sleep enough. Can not sleeping properly actually cause a fever, or is it just a coincidence?

Lack of sleep weakens the immunity, making the body catch infections very easily. My daughter stayed up all night for an exam once and caught a mild fever the next day. Please make sure you rest and take paracetamol if a doctor advises it.

Bro, honestly, whenever I sleep for just 2-3 hours during hackathons, my body feels super hot and tired like I have a fever. It is usually just extreme exhaustion. Just crash for 8 hours and see if it goes away.

At 50, if I skip sleep for even one night, my body thinks it's under attack and my temperature rises! It's just our weak battery showing red alert. Sleep is the only charger we have at this age, so go get some rest.

Yes, sleep deprivation lowers your body's defenses, making it super easy for pesky viruses to attack! 🤒 Make yourself a warm cup of haldi doodh, wrap yourself in a blanket, and get a long, peaceful sleep tonight. You'll feel much better!

I used to work night shifts and got a mild fever quite often. My doctor told me sleeplessness messes with body temperature regulation and lowers immunity. If your temperature is really high though, get it checked for an infection.
