Can sleep cause anxiety?

Lately, I've been feeling quite anxious, especially in the evenings and mornings. I usually sleep well, but sometimes I wake up feeling very restless. Can the act of sleeping itself somehow trigger or worsen anxiety?

Usually it's anxiety that stops sleep, but bad sleep quality can definitely trigger morning panic. I noticed when I eat heavy, spicy food or sugary desserts right before bed, my sleep gets disturbed and I wake up feeling very anxious. Try eating light, easily digestible dinners.

Yes, sleep issues can absolutely cause anxiety. If you are having frequent nightmares, waking up gasping, or just getting broken sleep, your nervous system gets highly stressed. Try to keep a relaxing routine and don't hesitate to consult a doctor if it persists.

Mera toh personal experience hai, sleep disturbance se mind bohot restless ho jata hai. Agar dhang se so nahi paoge toh agle din choti baaton pe ghabrahat hone lagti hai na. Ek baar apni routine check karo aur doc se discuss kar lo.

I totally get it, waking up feeling anxious is the worst way to start the day. Sometimes deep sleep cycles get interrupted, leaving our brain in a fight-or-flight mode. Please be gentle with yourself and try some soothing music before sleeping.

Oh my god, yes! Sometimes I wake up suddenly in the middle of the night with my heart racing for no reason. Does this happen to anyone else here? It is so scary and makes me dread going to sleep the next night.

Poor sleep quality directly increases cortisol levels, which makes you feel stressed the next morning. In my hectic routine, if I sleep late, my next day is ruined by anxiety. Keep a fixed sleep time, stop using your phone 30 minutes before bed, and check with a professional if it continues.
