Can sleep apnea cause nightmares?

Since I started suspecting I have sleep apnea, I've also noticed I'm having really vivid and disturbing nightmares almost every night. I was wondering if this could be related. Does sleep apnea cause nightmares?

I used to wake up sweating from terrifying dreams and thought it was just my daily stress. It is actually really scary, but once my sleep improved, the nightmares stopped. Try talking to a doctor to see if they are connected.

With PCOS, my sleep quality is often quite poor, which sometimes triggers very vivid, stressful dreams. It might be linked to oxygen drops, but it is best to be cautious and seek a professional medical opinion.

I tried keeping lavender under my pillow and avoiding horror movies, but nothing stopped my bad dreams. I completely understand how exhausting this is. Please skip the home remedies and consult a sleep specialist directly.

Hey, don't stress too much about those bad dreams! When your breathing gets blocked, your brain panics and translates that into a nightmare. It is very common, so just schedule a quick checkup with a doctor to get it sorted.

My daughter used to wake up crying from terrible nightmares due to enlarged tonsils blocking her airway. It was heartbreaking. Getting her breathing issues treated resolved the nightmares, so please do consult a doctor.

Yes, they are linked. Your brain literally signals a choking panic to wake you up, which manifests as a nightmare. Skip the sleep tracking apps and go get a proper clinical sleep study done immediately.

If you need a sleep study to find out why you are having these bad dreams, look for government-empanelled labs to save on costs. Plan your expenses around this because proper diagnosis is important for your health.
