Can sleep apnea cause insomnia?

I find it so hard to fall asleep and stay asleep at night, even though I'm exhausted. I've also been told I might have sleep apnea. Can sleep apnea actually be a cause of insomnia, or are they separate issues?

Yes, they are definitely linked because waking up gasping for air makes you dread falling asleep again.

Look, instead of buying expensive sleeping pills that don't fix the root issue, try keeping a consistent sleep schedule and sleeping on your side. Also, book a basic consultation with a local doctor to get your breathing checked.

It is honestly so frustrating to lie awake in the middle of the night, feeling completely exhausted but too scared to sleep. I've been there and it is mentally draining. Please seek professional help to break this painful cycle.

I have to manage my blood sugar very carefully, and poor sleep or insomnia completely ruins my insulin sensitivity the next day. Make sure to consult a doctor to see if sleep apnea is the reason you can't sleep.

I always go to a well-known multi-specialty hospital for my checkups to avoid any confusion. My doctor there explained how sleep apnea triggers a panic state that leads to insomnia. You should ask a specialist clearly about this.

In my experience, practicing deep, mindful breathing exercises like Nadi Shodhana can help prepare the nervous system for rest. However, if there is a physical blockage like apnea, you must consult a medical doctor for proper treatment.

Simple baat hai, if your body feels like it's suffocating every time you drift off, your brain will keep you awake to save you. Don't ignore this. Go to a hospital and ask for a proper sleep study.
