Can sleep apnea cause excessive daytime sleepiness?

I am constantly feeling tired during the day, no matter how much sleep I get at night. My husband often complains about my snoring, so I'm wondering if I have sleep apnea. Is it common for sleep apnea to cause such extreme daytime sleepiness?

It definitely does, that is the most classic symptom. I used to fall asleep during office meetings. My best tip is to avoid heavy carbs at lunch and get a sleep study done to see if you need a CPAP machine.

Sleeping during the day usually means your body did not rest well at night. You can try keeping your head slightly elevated with a firm pillow and drinking warm milk before sleeping. If the fatigue continues, please consult a vaidya or doctor.

I struggled with this for nearly a decade, thinking it was just old age. Once I got my breathing issue treated, my energy levels came back completely. Do not lose hope, with the right medical care you will feel like yourself again.

Yes, when your airways block at night, your oxygen levels drop and disrupt your sleep cycle. That's why you feel like a zombie the next day. It's a very common issue, so please get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Absolutely, this is sleep apnea 101. If you're constantly waking up to breathe without realizing it, your brain never gets deep sleep. Stop relying on extra coffee and go book a sleep test right away.

I know how frustrating and scary it feels when you can't stay awake during the day. You start worrying if something is seriously wrong with your health. It is completely valid to feel anxious, but getting a doctor's opinion will help ease your mind.

I tried everything from lavender oil to sleeping on my side, but nothing worked for my daytime exhaustion. I totally understand how draining it is. Please don't waste time on quick fixes like I did, just consult a specialist.

Bro, I used to nod off while standing in the metro, people thought I was meditating! Turns out it was just bad sleep apnea. Don't worry, once you get it sorted, you won't need five cups of chai to survive the day.

Falling asleep at your desk ruins your productivity and career growth. Don't drag this out hoping it will get better on its own. Schedule a weekend appointment with a pulmonologist and get a practical solution.

Personally, I used to crash every afternoon and thought I was just being lazy. It was only after my wife pointed out my heavy snoring that I visited a specialist. Addressing the sleep issues solved my daytime fatigue completely.

While daytime sleepiness can happen due to many reasons, sleep apnea is a major one and shouldn't be ignored. Please get your vitals and sleep checked by a professional. It is always better to be safe and get a proper diagnosis.
