Can sleep apnea cause anxiety?

Lately, I've been feeling very anxious and stressed, and my sleep has been terrible, with lots of waking up. My husband thinks I might have sleep apnea. Could there be a connection between sleep apnea and these anxiety issues?

I used to think my panic attacks in the morning were just work stress, so I ignored them for two years. Turned out my oxygen was dropping at night because of apnea. Honestly, please go get a proper checkup done before you suffer needlessly like I did.

Actually yaaar, it totally can. When you aren't breathing properly at night, your brain goes into panic mode. Mere saath bhi sleep deprivation ki wajah se full-day anxiety and irritation hoti thi. You should definitely get it checked out.

Don't trust random self-diagnosis or herbal remedies on the internet for this. Anxiety and breathing issues are serious matters. Only a doctor can tell you if they are linked after a proper sleep study, so go book an appointment.

Yes, it is a very common cycle. Poor sleep directly affects your nervous system, which spikes daytime anxiety. I always tell people in this group to address the sleep issue first; it automatically resolves half of your mental stress.

Dealing with hormonal issues like PCOS, I know how easily sleep and mood get messed up. It is possible they are connected, but everyone's body reacts so differently. I would suggest talking to a doctor gently to find the root cause.

A disturbed night always leaves the mind uneasy the next day, beta. While you consult a good doctor for your breathing, you can try having a warm cup of haldi doodh before sleeping. Also, avoid looking at your phone late at night to keep the mind calm.
