Can sinusitis cause sleep apnea?

Diagnosed with chronic sinusitis, and my husband also says I snore very loudly and sometimes stop breathing in my sleep. Could my sinusitis be contributing to or even causing sleep apnea?

I am new to this and quite worried... my father has severe sinus blockages and has started snoring really loudly and stopping breath in his sleep. Can sinus issues actually lead to sleep apnea, or is it something else?

I just recovered from a severe sinus infection last month. The nasal swelling was so bad that I was constantly waking up gasping for air at night, which my doctor said was temporary sleep apnea caused by the blockage.

Haan, my wife says my sinus snoring sounds like an express train engine stopping and starting. It definitely messes with your breathing flow at night, but clearing the nose helps before you think of any scary diagnoses!

Honestly, between my blocked sinuses and waking up gasping every hour, I haven't slept properly in weeks. Sinusitis basically turns your nose into a cement wall, making breathing at night a complete joke.

My son had severe adenoid and sinus blockages that caused him to pause breathing while sleeping. We took him to an ENT doctor who helped treat the sinus inflammation, and his sleep improved drastically.

Don't stress. Nasal congestion from sinusitis can definitely block your airway and cause temporary sleep apnea symptoms. Get it checked by an ENT, use a humidifier, and let's get you sleeping peacefully again.
